we've recently decided to get a new e-mail address for the site because I can really gel with the google mail at all really after you need mobile verification etc. so I've decided to go for a new one.
Of course, the google mail one will still be in existence because I have signed up the blog with it put I would check it very frequently so if you want a quick reply your better off sending it to the new one. Also, there will be a few competitions and contribution opportunities so the e-mail will be vital for that.
here it is;
theworldgymnast@live.co.uk
yes, there it is.
So, if you need to contact me for blog post contributions, blog ideas, fan mail and other things then please give me a shout by the e-mail. I will get a separate page for it so you can find it.
thanks ;)

KENNEDY BAKER WILL NOT COMPETE
Recently, news broke out that USAs Kennedy Baker will not be competing in the 2nd Abierto Gimnasia Cup in Mexico.
In words....
"The US is no longer sending Kennedy Baker, with exciting Men's up-and-comer Donnell Whittenburg to be making the trip instead."
I'm not sure if Kennedy is injured but I still think it's unfair of USA to bump Donnell Whittenburg over her because she didn't even make the Olympic team either.
The female representative for USA is GAGEs Brenna Dowell, who could be a strong contender.
If you want to be reminded on the teams start list; HERE IT IS
TEAM USA
Brenna Dowell
Donell Whitennburg
TEAM BRAZIL
Sergio Sasaki Jr
TEAM BRITAIN
Daniel Purvis

ASK ME ANYTHING
I have recently created an ask.fm account which seems to be the latest trend.
Ask fm is all about asking questions that you're curious about or you just wanted to know. It's very entertaining reading and answering questions so ask away guys ;)

THE 2ND MEXICAN OPEN & REST OF YEAR SCHEDULE
and we're back with gymnastics action with the 2nd Mexican Open. There's a big line up this year so I am really looking forward to it.
If we recap back to last year, we saw Ksenia Afanasiieva take the title and then round it off with a horrendously forgettable dance routine in ugg boots, yes, sounds vile.
It's taking place from 12-13th of October so hold your horses but it will definitely be a good event.
Interestingly, Nadia Comaneci will be the competition's ''godmother''
But, what is next after this meet?
Well obviously, the 2012 season is coming to a close but we still have a few more competitions left.
3-7 Oct: ART South American Junior Gymnastics Championships (Cochabamba, Bolivia)
clashing with this tournament is the Alexander Dityatin Cup 2012 (St. Petersburg, Russia)
26-28th Oct: The Olympic Hopes Cup (Liberec, Czech Republic)
3 Nov: 2nd International Torneoi (Schilitgiem, France)
8-11 Nov: XI South American Senior Champs (Rosario, Argentina)
17 Nov: Jaoquim Blume Memorial (Barcelona, Spain)
23-24th Nov: Ostrava Grand Prix (Ostrava, Czech Rep.)
clashing with 2nd of Ostrava GP is Alpen Adria Cup (Klagenfurt, Austria)
1-2 Dec: ENBW World Cup Series (Stuttgart, Germany)
8 Dec: ART World Cup Series (Glasgow, UK)
14-15 Dec: Mikhail Voronin Cup (Moscow, Russia)
thank you. follow @theworldgymnast for news updates and more

I think this is a very strong field.
Who is going to win?
Well, we have 1 girl with Olympic participation experience (Gil Ortiz) so she may be a little bit drained after the huge expectation. I think the two Americans (Dowell & Baker) will be raring to go after they didn't make it through the gruelling Olympic Trials so they will want to prove something. The Mexican girls will obviously have the home support. I think that Anna Dementiyeva will be a very strong contender because she hasn't really competed a single big international competiton this year so she'll be rearing to go and get her only title of this year but I think it could be anyone's game really

SPORTING APP
Dutch gymnast Arjen Butter is currently in the process of launching a new sporting app, solely on gymnastics purposes.
It's estimated to be released next month. Basically, it's all about routines. Creating them, what to put inside them. It's targeted at the coaching area because it can easily hold up to 24 gymnasts. Coaches & gymnasts can have discussions on what they will include in the routine and you can put it in easy. I didn't mention but this is only a mens artistic app but Arjen is planning on upgrading to womens later on.
The features include;
- Scrolling within the code of points. (left and right scrolling is switching in the groups)(up and down scrolling is scrolling within the group)
- Click on an element to add this in your routine
- Double click on an element to let it zoom in so you can see it more clear when you think its to small
- In the routine you can swap positions of the elements
- It shows which group you miss for maximum points
- It gives an error when: to many elements of a group / twice the same element / forgot to save / twice a dismount and many more
- Each element and his value will be automatically calculated. So you will always see an up to date D and E-score
- You can delete an element by dragging it outside the borders
- Save and load your routine
- Post your routine on Facebook

You can also toggle the 'hits' and 'tries' and see the percentage of how many times you miss or hit.
This could really be a hit so we need to support Arjen and help me & him to help get this on the road.
Thanks.

THE OLYMPIC AFTERMATH: GRUMBLES AND COMPLAINTS PT 1
The Olympics finished quite a while ago but many gymnastics bloggers, fans and everyone in the sport has many grumbles and complaints from the olympics and rules we want changed. Not complaints like Vanessa Ferrari's leos, which could definitely be cleaned up but like the 2-per country rule, dah, I hate saying that!
1. 2-PER COUNTRY RULE
Underline it, put it bold, throw it to FIG, they will not buy it! On numerous occasions, I have e-mailed & tweeted them but still no response. This rule is actually crazy town. Everyone was distraught about Jordyn but the best 2 girls obviously got through because Gabby scored 3 tenths higher than Jordyn but it would've been a better battle.
2011 Worlds (Jo) 2012 Olympics (Gabby)
VT: 15.716 15.966
UB: 13.60 15.733
BB: 15.266 15.500
FX: 14.800 15.033
---------- ------------
59.382 62.232
2. TIE BREAKER
Mention tiebreaker to me and the consequences will be HUGE! This is the part of gymnastics I hate. Take Alexandra Raisman, she scored 59.966 so did Aliya Mustafina but Aliya got the credit of bronze. UNFAIR! Other examples include Aliya Mustafina & Beth Tweddle in floor qualifications and that is super horrible considering she is from the home nation, Alexandra Raisman and Catalina Ponor for bronze on beam for .3 in execution & Musty and Ferrari.
I'm just warning you, if the rule isn't changed for next years worlds, bitches will be cut.
3. TIM & ELFI BE GONE
I hate tim and elfi and they're getting on a little bit so I say, GOOD RIDDANCE
thats it for part 1

TWITTER ACCOUNT UP FOR GRABS
my newly opened account @TwiggysBun has become very popular amongst gymnastic tweeters but i've decided to change it into someone elses hands as I am not quite sure what to tweet on it. However, I will still check and occasionally tweet on it but it's more permanent for someone else.
If your interested then e-mail us; the.world.gymnast1@gmail.com, tweet me and direct message me on @theworldgymnast
thank you.

THE YEARLY LUL
Usually this time every year, there is a massive lul in gymnastics feed. Bloggers can scrap a mere amount of news into the blogs due to the lack in competitions so I just wanted to tell you that the reason I haven't been blogging lately is that reason. This Olympics was incredible though. So, I might be tweeting a little but more so you can follow @theworldgymnast!
on the petition, we have reached 546 supporters but FIG haven't even responded so I'm taking that as a No!
so just a brief re-cap,
bye x

PETITION
if you don't know by now, me & another person have set up a petition to FIG about changing the 2 per nation rule. My target was 250 signatures but we have reached a staggering 420 and I haven't closed it yet. I have already sent an e-mail to the FIG but they haven't responded so I think they're a little snobbish/sceptical about it but we will have to wait and see

YES
after numerous bitchy messages, annoying people and just constant insults. I decided I'd come clean to you guys.
Yes, I am James, I'm 12 years old. When you see the word 12, most of you instantly fleet some place else but I don't want to be that person. I am very passionate for Gymnastics and I love it dearly but the biggest thing people have told me is spelling. Yeah, I am not the greatest speller but who cares? I make my opinion and if you don't like it then don't read my blog.
I'm sorry for lying to some people but you know the reasons why!
