GYMNAST OF THE WEEK: 21st April

After, a long decision, this gymnast of the week was a tricky one after there was SUI-GBR-RUS etc. but I decided to give the title this week to someone who has contributed not only to herself but also to her teams performance. She is an NCAA competitor, who competed last night. More info? She's from the University of Florida!


yes..... IT'S


                            KYTRA HUNTER!


Now, we don't usually give this award to NCAA competitors but she was the all-around winner at last nights NCAA competition. Hunter helped the Florida University team get into second place in the team standings just behind #4 Alabama (9th April 2012). 


The University of Florida are currently top of the rankings board with their National Qualifying Score (394.770) just 0.275 ahead of the UCLA team.

The Russian girls were very strong on vaulting. We have 2 videos of bars from sets by Aliya Mustafina (15.15) and Komova (15.85)


Unfortunately, Anastasia Grishina fell from the beam (13.3) but Mustafina and Sidorova saved the day with 2 good beam sets. We haven't seen any floor routines but I'm sure they are yet to come.

THE FASHIONISTA: ROMANIA

In this episode of the fashionista, we say hello to the Romanian wardrobe. Romania have a variation in their types of leotards during the past 6-10 years but their main starting point today is usually the national colours. We take Haidu, Bulimar, Izbasa, Iordache, Chelaru and Porgras on a trip down memory lane to their leotard choices.

DOUGLAS SIGNS TO AGENT.

2011 World Uneven Bars Finalist, Gabrielle Douglas, has officially signed a representation agreement with Sahde Global inc. Shawn Johnson, Liang Chow, Bela Karolyi and Paul and Morgan Hamm. 

Other gymnasts signed to Shade include Rythmic Gymnast Julie Zetlin. Also, Chellsie Memmel, Blaine Wilson and Ohio State's Brandon Wynn.

Congratulations to Gabby and everyone on the Shade list.
